Why Custom Software
If I were to ask you what software could be used
to write a letter, you might answer Microsoft Word®. If I were
to ask what software could be used to keep small business accounting
information, you might answer Quickbooks®. However, if I were
to ask you what software could be used to run your business and
accomplish your tasks exactly the way you require... you might not
answer.
For some industries, standard software is available.
Restaurant and retail store point-of-sale systems are very common
and standardized as are accounting packages. However, your business
is most likely unique and has unique processes which are not covered
by any specific 'off the shelf' software. Custom applications can
be written to fit your business structure and procedures so that
your employees can be more productive.
For Existing Systems
While many clients are happy with their existing
system, they may have requirements that the current system cannot
easily fulfill, such as additional reporting or transfering of data
to other systems and standards. Third-party tools can be written
to help span the gaps between where your current system is and where
you want to be.
The Tools We Use
Our applications are developed in either Visual
Basic (typically with a database, such as SQL Server, MSDE, Access
or MySQL) or in Access.
